CCTV Installation

Choosing where to start
If you are securing a property for the first time, CCTV installation is usually the starting point, because it tells you what is happening and gives you something to hand over if you ever need to. An intruder or burglar alarm adds detection while the property is empty, which cameras alone do not provide. Access control comes into its own once more than a couple of people need to get in and you want to control when and where.
If you already have a system and it has stopped doing its job, start with a repair visit rather than a replacement quote. A surprising number of failures come down to a power supply, a damaged connection or a full hard drive, and replacing a whole system to fix one of those is money wasted.

Typical costs
As a rough guide, a small domestic CCTV system runs from around £450 to £900, a four-camera installation from £700 to £1,400, and a larger home or small business system from £1,200 to £2,500.
